Each Spring, the Oklahoma-Arkansas Section of the Mathematical Association of America has a meeting devoted to undergraduate mathematics. There are interesting talks and workshops aimed at undergraduates, as well as opportunities for undergraduates to present their own research, and problem contests.
This year, the meeting is Friday and Saturday, April 1-2 on the campus of the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, with undergraduate student competitions (individual and team) beginning the evening of March 31st. The plenary lectures are “Mathematics and Architecture in the Baroque Era”, and “Introduction to Knot Theory.” The student workshop is entitled “Bubbles and Other Geometric Minimizers.”
For more information, see the website.
If you are interested in attending, the Math Department can help cover your expenses, so please send an email to this guy, and indicate whether you are interest in the problem competitions on the 31st.
