Guess not everyone loves polynomials.

In case you didn’t notice, the April POM is up in the display case on the second floor of PHSC next to the elevators. The rules are the same. The short version is all solutions must be in to the math office on the fourth floor of PHSC by 5 pm on the last day of April and the fullest solution wins the prize. So hand it in even if you only have a partial solution, or only a few examples figured out!

Good luck!

And speaking of polynomials…

A plot of all the roots/zeros of all polynomials of degree less than or equal to 18 and with coefficents being only 1 and -1.

The above picture of the complex roots of polynomials of degree not more than 18 with 1 and -1 as coefficents can be found here. Warning: It’s a cool but trippy website. Prepare to be overstimulated!

For more on roots of polynomials and their pretty pictures, check out John Baez’s page here.

Wow! That website is awesome! I highly recommend checking it out to anyone reading this!

Cheers to the math blog for giving us so much fractal trippiness!
