Undergraduate Women in Mathematics

The 11th annual Nebraska Conference for Undergraduate Women in Mathematics is scheduled for January 30 – February 1, 2009 in Lincoln, Nebraska.  This is a great opportunity to hang out with hundreds of other women studying mathematics all over the country, and to see talks and posters about research projects these students have completed.  You can attend panel discussions about graduate school and career opportunities for math majors.  Not only that, but you also get to meet some prominent women in the field of mathematics.  I know what you’re thinking: “I’ve never done a research project, so I wouldn’t be able to give a talk.”  Guess what?  You don’t need to give a talk or poster to attend!

The deadline to register is December 12, 2008.  If you would like to hear more or would like to attend, contact Keri Kornelson, PHSC 811, kkornelsonATmathDOTouDOTedu  .

  1. In case you don’t know, CAndrews is a current grad student in math here at OU, who attended the Nebraska Conference a year or two ago. If she says Go, then Go!
