As the spring semester starts up, you should already be thinking about what you’ll be doing after the semester.  If you’re graduating, you’re looking for a career and if not, then you should be thinking about summer internships.  In any case, Adrienne Jablonski in the OU College of Arts and Sciences is looking out for you.
You can make an appointment with her on iAdvise and she’ll help you find openings, get your resume and application in order, and get ready for interviews.
She wanted us to let you know about some career events which are already on the schedule:
  • February 20, OU Spring Career Fair, OMU Ballroom, 12:30-4:00pm
  • February 27, A&S Student Networking Reception with Employers, OMU Beaird Lounge, 4:30-6:00pm, Free Food, Invitation to come.

Because you don’t want this to be your summer job.

Raytheon at tomorrow’s Career Fair!

Tomorrow is the Engineering Career fair, and Adrienne Jablonski let us know that Raytheon is especially looking for a few good mathematicians:

I received a call today from a recruiter with Raytheon and they are hiring Mathematics and Physics majors. They will be on campus at the Engineering Career Fair on Thursday, September 13, 12:30-4:30 pm at Lloyd Noble Center.  They will be selecting students at the career fair to interview this Friday, so it’s especially important for interested students to stop by the career fair (in professional attire).
For a career fair details and a link to all employers who will be attending, see: http://www.ou.edu/career/Events/CareerFairsStatic.html
Raytheon is particularly interested in students with an interest and/experience in Signal Processing, Software Development, Algorithms, Cryptography.
Please encourage students to check out their website and apply online. Positions for Math and Physics majors may have “engineering” in the job title, so they should take a look at the major requirements listed for the positions.
Please share this message with your students.
Thank you,
Adrienne Jablonski
Maybe they’ll let you wear the XOS 2 suit :-) :
